Haiku Dreams: A personal haiku journal with images and commentary

Beautiful haiku and evocative, full color images. Haiku, the traditional Japanese poetry format evocatively capture a moment in time, an intense snapshot, in seventeen syllables, across three lines of verse. When the world went into lockdown in 2020 due to Covid 19 Jason took to the short poem format as a form of mindfulness and Zen meditation on the small, beautiful things – to appreciate and show gratitude for the richness of nature around us. As the world changed dramatically it was a way of finding calm in uncertain times. Lawnmowers whirring Outside my office window My life in lockdown Cherry blossom stirs Dappled light on mossy stone Too transient beauty Radiant sunlight In a shimmering raindrop – Rainbow colour wash Miniature trees Contorted by hand and wire. “Natural” beauty After it’s all over Amongst the memories this: Discarded face masks With over 500 verses, this is a sometimes intensely personal and reflective collection of haiku, together with commentary and beautiful images. At times poignant, witty, provocative, playful – there is something here for everybody who appreciates this popular poetry format, or is just looking to slow down and be more mindful. – ASIN: B09LWFLFVY | ISBN13: 9798761428676 | ISBN-13: 979-8761428676
