Algernon Blackwood Horror Stories (Gothic Fantasy)

Algernon Blackwood, a founding father of modern ghost and horror stories, is one of the great horror writers of the late Victorian and Edwardian eras. With M.R. James, William Hope Hodgson and Arthur Machen, he inspired generations of writers from H.P. Lovecraft to Shirley Jackson, Robert Bloch to Ramsey Campbell. Although The Willows and The Wendigo are his most well-known, this new collection brings together many of his other finely crafted tales, including ‘The Empty House’, ‘A Haunted Island’, ‘The Transfer’ and ‘The Kit-Bag’. The Flame Tree Gothic Fantasy, Classic Stories and Epic Tales collections bring together the entire range of myth, folklore and modern short fiction. Highlighting the roots of suspense, supernatural, science fiction and mystery stories, the books in Flame Tree Collections series are beautifully presented, perfect as a gift and offer a lifetime of reading pleasure. – ASIN: 1804177091 | ISBN13: 9781804177099 | ISBN-13: 978-1804177099
