The Way to Valhalla

Violent abuse and poverty in Southern Ireland – the perfect ingredients required to mould young Jimmy Curtis into the only thing he was destined to become: a soldier. Haunted by his brutal upbringing and hardened by working-class deprivation, he joins the Paras and is exposed to battle worldwide: from the streets of Northern Ireland, to uncompromisingly savage mercenary warfare across Africa, and battles fought at close quarters in the Falklands War. Driven by a desire to rediscover his roots, he returns to Ireland and is unexpectedly dragged back into the soulless anarchy which he believed was past. From an author with over two decades’ experience of war, Brendan Martin’s The Way to Valhalla charts the provocative yet deeply compelling story of life on the front line and beyond. With a stunning depth of imagery, and a relentless barrage of emotional impact, it captures the reader in the heart of the action. – ASIN: 185756720X | ISBN13: 9781857567205 | ISBN-13: 978-1857567205
