UK Probate Guide: How to Obtain a Grant of Probate & What Steps to Take on the Death of a Loved One

The UK Probate Guide is a straightforward comprehensive (153 page) ‘How to do it guide’ on how to obtain a Grant of Probate, Confirmation, or Letters of Administration in England, Wales, Northern Ireland & Scotland and what steps to take when someone dies, from registering the death to obtaining the Grant & distributing the estate. Unlike some more limited probate guides that only cover England & Wales & mainly focus on people who left a Will, the UK Probate Guide deals with both Will & non Will maker estates, and encompasses probate and the administration of estates in all four countries within the UK (England, Wales, Northern Ireland & Scotland). The UK Probate Guide shows you what steps to take when someone dies, the order in which to take them (with a bulleted to do list), and what documents you will need to obtain the Grant and administer the estate of the deceased. Including which inheritance tax forms to use to apply for Probate, Confirmation or Letters of Administration, where to get the forms from, when to use them, where to send them & how to use them online or by post. Additionally, because so many people die without making a Will, the UK Probate Guide also has individual country by country sections on intestacy law. The guide showing who inherits under the rules of intestacy (if the deceased died without making a Will), the order of succession to the estate, & the different legal processes & rules used in all four countries. The UK Probate Guide also contains information on: tax exemptions & tax relief (that can be applied for); information on how it may be possible to lessen or avoid paying inheritance tax on the deceased’s estate; how it may be possible to retrospectively create eligibility for additional tax allowances to raise the tax threshold before inheritance tax is payable on the estate; & how it is legally possible to retrospectively vary who inherits under the rules of intestacy or the terms of a Will. The UK Probate Guide is for executors & next of kin involved in obtaining probate, a probate guide for those wishing to know more about the probate process, & a guide for those wishing to do things for themselves to save money on legal fees. The guide also has handy letter templates at the back. – ASIN: B08M1674JG | ISBN13: 9798675318445 | ISBN-13: 979-8675318445
