The 600: Survival of a Belvidere Boy

An autobiographical account of the harsh, yet often comedic realities of growing up in 1970s Britain inspired by the perspective of a young boy in his school days and into his teenage years. The book is a collection of short story-lines conjured up from boyhood memories and based on real-life events depictive of a bygone era. Exploring the social and educational norms of the period, the story-lines reflect the shocking, yet often hilarious social behaviours and influences of the day and touch upon the dawning of a new wave of attitudinal music across Britain. The book touches upon the failing educational system of the time which apart from promulgating violence through daily rations of corporal punishment, did little if anything to prepare, encourage or aspire school boys for later life in the adult world of work. Written with some reflective humour, the book could be described as a dark comedy. – ASIN: B0D9ZXB7V5 | ISBN13: 9798333745736 | ISBN-13: 979-8333745736
